Quantum of the Seas

Quantum of the Seas comes under the Quantum class of ships from Royal Caribbean and onboard there are a whole host of new concepts. The first one is the North Star, a London Eye type capsule offering you 360-degree views of your current surroundings from 90 metres above the sea! Game changer 2 is the RipCord by iFly, here you will discover the thrill of skydiving in a safe and controlled environment. Thirdly there is the SeaPlex, the largest indoor active space at sea, here you’ll find 30 bumper cars, a roller rink, a full-size basketball court, a circus school, floating DJ booth and a food truck! For the adults they have introduced the Bionic Bar, where technology meets mixology. Another transformative venue is Two70°SM the floor to ceiling, 270° windows provide incredible views and a tranquil atmosphere by day. Innovations bring the outside ocean inside and offer virtual balconies with floor to ceiling virtual screens to give you the feel of an ocean view where you can enjoy the sunset and sunrise from the comfort of your interior stateroom. Quantum’s new concept of Dynamic Dining eliminates set dining times or assigned seating, no main dining rooms and no formal night/s. There are 25 dining options, including the specialty venues.

Day 1 Wednesday 2 October 2019 Depart Australia

Day 3 Friday 4 October 2019 Beijing
It is often quoted in Beijing that “you’ve not been to China until you have climbed the Great Wall”. The Great Wall of China is the longest man-made structure in the world. The length of all Chinese defense walls built over the last 2000 years is approximately 50,000 kilometres, while the Earth’s circumference is only 40,000 kilometres! Explore the much quieter Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, which was first begun in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550-557) and finished in the 17th century. The 2.5 kilometre stretch of the Wall allows you to walk along its storied length for over an hour and visit the many watchtowers, should you so choose. Later this afternoon we visit The Summer Palace, one of the largest and best preserved imperial gardens in the world. In the 18th century, Emperor Qianlong enlarged and embellished it, only to abandon it a few years later. The grounds today are stunning, as is the lovely Kunming Lake, which occupies more than three quarters of the total area. Enjoy a boat ride before walking the Long Corridor, a 728-metre hall featuring 8000 paintings collected by the Emperor during his travels around the country. Meals included: Breakfast
