Costa Mediterranea Deck plans

Costa Mediterranea

Inspired by the style of Italy’s 17th and 18th palaces, the Costa Mediterranea will show you that a cruise ship can also be a work of art. Even the silverware in the glamorous Ristoranti degli Argentieri is unique. The ship also sports four steaming, bubbling hot tubs to melt tension away. When it’s time to quell your hunger, the Costa Mediterranea offers four fantastic restaurants, including: Club Medusa; the Perla del Lago Buffet; Burger d’Autore; the Ristoranti degli Argentieri; and the Club Restaurant. There is a nightly show, with two performances in the Osiris Theatre, the ship’s Egyptian-themed main performance venue and 12 bars to quench your thirst, including a Wine Bar and the Cognac and Cigar Bar.

Day 1 Depart Australia
Today you board your flight to Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. After clearing customs you are met by your private coach and transferred to your 3-star resort hotel, your home for the next three nights. On arrival, unpack and soak up the unique atmosphere of this Indian Ocean paradise.

Day 2 Port Louis, Mauritius
Today we will enjoy an included sightseeing tour of the island of Mauritius. We will visit the famed Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens with its fascinating collections of plants, including water lilies. Port Louis is known for its French colonial architecture and maritime history. We travel through the city and learn of its pirate history, and much more.

A free day to explore the island or simply relax in our beach resort hotel.

Day 4 Embarkation
A free day to relax before later being transferred to the port to board the luxurious Costa Mediterranea.

Day 5 At sea

Day 6 At sea
A free day to explore the fabulous facilities on board.

Day 7 Victoria, Seychelles
This morning we arrive in Victoria, the capital of the Seychelles on the island of Mahe. The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, off east Africa. It is home to numerous beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves, as well as rare animals such as giant Aldabra tortoises. The day will be free for sightseeing.

Day 8 Victoria, Seychelles
A free day to explore the island of Mahe. Take a sightseeing tour of the beautiful main island known for its natural beauty. Its palm-fringed beaches are perhaps the most beautiful in the world, with a spectacular mountainous interior. This gorgeous island is a definite highlight of the cruise.

Day 9 Victoria, Seychelles
Early this afternoon we depart Victoria and cruise towards the coast of Madagascar.

Day 10 At sea
A free day to explore the ship and enjoy the fabulous facilities on board. Take some dance lessons; enjoy poolside games; quizzes and crafts classes.

Day 11 Nosy Be, Madagascar
Nosy Be is a beautiful tropical island, covered with palm trees and bougainvillea, and is Madagascar’s leading tourist destination. It boasts breath-taking beaches, lush vegetation, friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere. It is the largest of Madagascar’s islands and lies off its northwest coast, in an area with a pleasant climate. It is often called Nosy Manitra (the “Scented Island”) because it is a producer of a precious essential oil extracted from the flowers of the ylang-ylang tree, which is exported to the West for use in the perfume industry. Take a sightseeing tour of this interesting island and visit the old town near the port, which is home to several colonial buildings, including the old prison, built in 1855.

Day 12 At sea
A free day to explore the ship and enjoy the fabulous facilities on board.

Day 13 Tamatave, Madagascar
Tamatave is a port city on the east coast of Madagascar. Its old town district features Creole houses built on stilts and a visit to the local markets is a must for any visitor. You can buy vanilla in all forms: syrup, powder, in sticks, but also other spices, tons of tropical fruits: litchis, mangoes, guayavas, jackfruit, souvenir shells or local arts and craft. Alternatively take a sightseeing tour to nearby national parks to see the native Lemurs in the wild.

Day 14 At sea
Our final day at sea to explore and enjoy the facilities of the ship.

Day 15 Saint Denis, Reunion
Today we call in to the island of Reunion, a French colony since 1813. French speaking, with euros as the local currency, Reunion is a little bit of France in the Indian Ocean. The mountainous area of this rugged island are truly outstanding and a tour to see some spectacular waterfalls is highly recommended.

Day 16 Saint Denis, Reunion Saint
Denis still retains its original French spirit, which is demonstrated by the many bistros with Parisian cuisine, enriched by Caribbean influences. Still known as ‘the Paris of the Indian Ocean’ the city of Saint Denis is the capital of the island of Réunion, both economically, administratively and culturally. During our stop, you can visit churches, monuments, creole houses and ancient military buildings that reflect the various eras that have marked the island, and which are a symbol of its multiculturalism.

Day 17 Port Louis, Mauritius
This morning you arrive back in Port Louis, Mauritius. Today is a free day to further explore the island, or to buy some last-minute gifts. Tonight will be our last night on board the Costa Mediterranea.
