Depart Australia/Arrive Colombo
We depart Australia today on our flights to
Colombo, via Singapore. We will arrive in the late
evening and are transferred to our hotel for check
in. Please note we will arrive at the hotel after
midnight.
DAY 2 Thursday 9 October 2025
Colombo
Mid-morning we are met by our local guide for a
sightseeing tour of Colombo. We drive through
the historic Fort area, bustling Pettah bazaar,
and see the stunning Hindu temple. Experience
the Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque, Wolvendaal
Dutch Church, and Hultsdorf Law Courts. Explore
Cinnamon Gardens, Independence Square,
and the Bandaranaike Memorial International
Conference Hall, before finishing up at the serene
Gangaramaya Temple.
DAY 3 Friday 10 October 2025
Dambulla
This morning we travel to Dambulla, stopping
along the way in Ridigama to visit the Reedi
Viharaya Temple. The Reedi Vihara Temple is a
2nd-century BCE Theravada Buddhist temple in the village of Ridigama, Sri Lanka. Built during
the reign of Dutthagamani of Anuradhapura,
the temple is considered as the place where
the silver ore, which provided silver to complete
Ruwanwelisaya; one of the largest stupa in
Sri Lanka, was discovered. According to the
chronicles Mahavamsa and Thupavamsa, the
Ridi Viharaya complex was built in gratitude for
helping him cherish his dream of completing
Ruwanwelisaya.
DAY 4 Saturday 11 October 2025
Dambulla
Our first visit of the day will be Sigiriya to climb
the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress which is a
World Heritage Site, built by King Kashyapa (477
495 AD). The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual
beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. A
moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including
the renowned water gardens ring the base of
the rock. We then visit the famous frescoes of
the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by
a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in
earth pigments on plaster. Continue to the World
Heritage City of Polonnaruwa, where will see
the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya – site of the 4 statues of Buddha in ‘Upright’,
‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out
of rock, plus much more.
Activity Physical Rating: Sigiriya Rock Fortress:
Climb to the top requires very high fitness which
is 1½ hours climb. However, you can opt to visit
the museum and the ground level ruins.
DAY 5 Sunday 12 October 2025
Dambulla
This morning we will experience life in a local
village. We’ll enjoy a tractor ride through the
village and cross the lake by canoe before taking
part in a cooking demonstration by the local
women. After enjoying lunch, travel back through
the village by Tuk Tuk. In the afternoon, we take a
jeep safari through the Minneriya National Park.
It is a great place for elephant spotting all year
round and is also home to 23 other species of
mammals such as deer and sambur, leopards and
sloth bears. Make sure you also watch the skies
for the opportunity to spot some of the 150 bird
species in the park.
DAY 6 Monday 13 October 2025
Kandy
Today we make our way south to Kandy, via
the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. We will climb
up to the temple, which was donated by King
Walagambahu in the 1st century BC to Buddhist
monks. The complex of five caves with over
2000 sq. metres of painted walls and ceiling is
the largest area of paintings found in the world.
These caves contain over 150 images of Buddha
of which the largest is the colossal figure of the
Buddha carved out of rock spanning 14 meters.
As we get closer to Kandy, we stop in Matale,
to taste the different spices, which Sri Lanka is
famous for. You will be introduced to different
spices and shown how some of these spices are
grown and processed. In the evening, we visit
the Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a cultural
show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing.
DAY 7 Tuesday 14 October 2025
Kandy
This morning we visit the Peradeniya Botanical
Gardens. This botanical garden was first built
as a pleasure garden by a Sinhala king and was
expanded by the British. It is 147 acres in extent
and provides an amazing variety of trees, plants
and flowers. We continue with a sightseeing tour
of Kandy, including a drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala King Sri Wickrama
Rajasinghe in 1798. We then visit the Kandy Town
and Bazaar, plus the Arts & Crafts Centre and a
Gem Museum.
DAY 8 Wednesday 15 October 2025
Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast we transfer to Kandy Railway
Station for a scenic train journey through the tea
plantations up to Nanu Oya. On arrival at Nanu
Oya, we proceed to our hotel with a stop along
the way to visit Pedra Tea Plantation and Factory,
where the best tea in the world is produced. You
will learn all about the process of manufacturing
tea, including how tea is graded. During the visit
you will have the opportunity to taste a cup of
pure Ceylon tea in the factory. We check into our
hotel late afternoon.
DAY 9 Thursday 16 October 2025
Yala
This morning, we travel to Yala via Elle &
Wellawaya. On arrival, enjoy a jeep safari though
the Yala National Park. The National Park is a
huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons that
border the Indian Ocean. It’s home to wildlife such
as leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as
hundreds of bird species.
DAY 10 Friday 17 October 2025
Galle
This morning we travel by coach to Galle, located
on the southwestern coast of Sri Lanka, it is a
charming city known for its blend of colonial
history and stunning coastal scenery. On arrival, we visit Galle Dutch Fortress. The fortress was
built first by the Portuguese, and then modified
by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even today,
after 400 years of existence, it looks new and
polished with reconstruction work done by the
Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. We then
check into our hotel.
DAY 11 Saturday 18 October 2025
Galle
Today is a free day to explore Galle. You may
like to visit the famous Turtle Hatchery in
Habaraduwa, the Galle National Museum which
showcases Galle’s cultural heritage or the serene
Sri Sudharshanaramaya Buddhist Temple. It is
also worth a stop at Galle’s bustling markets for
fresh produce, spices, and handmade crafts.
DAY 12 Sunday 19 October 2025
Negombo
This morning we travel by coach to the vibrant
coastal city of Negombo. On arrival, we enjoy a
sightseeing tour of this seaside town, including
the fishing village to observe the colorful
traditional fishing boats, known as “oruwa.”
We’ll also make a stop at the bustling Negombo
Fish Market, where you can see a variety of
fresh seafood being sold. Early evening we are
transferred to the airport to begin our journey
home.

For the train ride to Nanu Oya, it is not possible to confirm the train ticket reservation due to the fact that Sri Lanka Railway has a manual system for reservations. Tickets can only be booked 30 days prior to departure. The 1st and 2nd class is basic but has air-conditioning. The non-air conditioned 3rd class sometimes is the only option based on availability. On the rare occasion the train is fully booked we’ll conduct the route by road. Yala National Park closes for a period between the months of September and October. The exact closure dates are made clear closer to the time. For departure dates that fall over this period, Yala National park will be replaced with a visit to Udawalawe National Park.

Touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this tour without the need of assistance from others.

is the tour organiser. Tour arrangements are subject to the terms and
conditions and general information detailed in brochure. All passengers
must complete a Travelrite International booking form.
TOUR COSTS:
The tour’s costs are based on transport, accomm-odation
costs and entrance costs at 1 November 2024. Travelrite reserves the
right to alter the costs if any of these factors change including currency
changes, giving any passenger that has booked the right to withdraw
with full refund of monies paid or modify arrangements. No alterations
to costings will be made within 92 days prior to departure
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT:
A non-refundable deposit of $900 per
passenger should be sent with a booking form that lists your requested
cabin category. As soon as the booking is confirmed (usually within 24
hours) confirmation advice will be posted to the client. Final payments
are due to be paid to Travelrite International 90 days prior to the
commencement of the fly, tour and cruise holiday. A 1.5% administration
fee will be added to all payments made by Visa and Master Card. 3%
administration charge will be added to payments by Amex and Diners
Club cards.
CANCELLATION CONDITIONS:
Cancellations within 92 days of departure
will result in the loss of all monies paid. Cancellation outside 92 days from
departure will result in a cancellation fee of $900 per person.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS:
All passengers will require a valid passport.
Australian passport holders will require an Electronic Visa Authorization
(ETA). If not an Australian passport holder, check with Travelrite Inter
national for visa requirements.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
Adequate travel insurance is highly recommended
to cover cruise members for the consequences of unforeseen events
during the cruise and for cancellation fees which could result from such
events such as illness, accident, death etc.
MINIMUM TOUR NUMBERS:
The tour arrangements have been made
on the basis of a minimum number of passengers travelling. In the event
that less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their
booking 92 days from the date of departure, Travelrite International
reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of monies paid,
or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified fare.

Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold the Travelrite & Cruise Offers responsible for any decision made by any of them or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.

or suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with these
holidays shall act only as agents in making arrangements for hotels,
transportation including transportation by ship, restaurants, or any
other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury,
damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person or property due to an
act of negligence or a default of any hotel, carrier restaurant company
or person rendering any services included in the tour, or by act of
God. Further no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay
due to sickness, pilferage, labour disputes, machinery break-down,
quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism or other causes
beyond their control. No responsibility is accepted for any additional
expense, omission, delays, re-routing or acts of any government
authority. Baggage is at owners risk throughout the holiday. The
passage contract between the carriers concerned when issued shall
constitute the sole contract between the carriers and the purchasers of

You engage Travelrite to book
this tour on your behalf and you acknowledge that Travelrite acts as
your agent for the purpose of making contracts between you and the
various providers of accommodation, transportation and other services
that comprise the tour. Travelrite may without reference to you provide or make available to you, or may as your agent engage any third
party to provide or make available to you, any good or service which
Travelrite reasonably believes is necessary for your benefit to maintain
the tour itinerary, repatriate you or otherwise accommodate, transport
or sustain you in circumstances in which the tour itinerary fails wholly
or partly for any reason. You appoint Travelrite your attorney for this
purpose. You agree to pay Travelrite any cost thereof and you indemnify
Travelrite in respect of any cost it incurs in this regard. Travelrite advises
you to obtain travel insurance generally including in respect of the risk
that any such good or service may become required.
