This morning arrive in Melbourne, Australia’s second largest city. Shop for hidden treasures in endless cobbled alleyways, photograph the amazing street art or relax in one of the many famous restaurants or quirky bars. For those looking to learn more about the history and diversity of this sprawling city, take a Yarra river cruise or a city walking tour. Sightseeing tours can be purchased onboard the Sea Princess.

Arrive in the North-Western city of Tasmania, Burnie. Burnie is the gateway to the spectacular Cradle Mountain and riverside city of Lauceston. Lauceston is famed for the Cataract Gorge, with panoramic views, walking trails and sculpted gardens. Otherwise stay around Burnie and visit the Guide Waterfalls, Emu Bay and the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden.

At noon arrive in Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, Australia’s only island state. Discover Tasmania’s convict histories by embarking on a historic walking tour or visiting the World Heritage-listed Port Arthur Historic Site on the Tasman Peninsula, which is Australia’s most intact and evocative convict site. Take in Hobart’s stunning Natural backdrop while visiting Mount Wellington for spectacular views from the summit. Otherwise visit the interesting MONA gallery.

At noon the Sea Princess will be arriving at the port of Adelaide, located on Australia’s Southern Coast. Stroll through the historically rich Victoria Square or pay a visit to the nearby German influenced town of Hahndorf. Adelaide also has plenty to offer for Culinary Enthusiasts – spend the afternoon in the iconic wine region, the Barossa Valley or visit Adelaide’s Central Market.

We arrive in Benoa Bay today, a fishing village and port on the east coast of Bali. Traditional fishing boats line the spectacular white beach and various sized motor boats are moored at the shore. You may like to visit Ubud, the arts and cultural heart of Bali. The township itself has interesting markets and many small shops. Sightseeing tours can be booked onboard the Sun Princess.

Arrive in the small Western Australian City of Albany, home to less than 35,000 residents. See the untouched coastal sceneries on one of the many seaside trails. Delve into the fascinating past of the Albany with a visit to the Replica of the Brig Amity, the ship that carried the first European Settlers of Western Australia, or visit the Historic Whaling station, which was the last operating station in Australia.

This morning we arrive in Margaret River: a region best known for its surf beaches and wineries. Enjoy today at leisure visiting the wineries or see the amazing limestone formation in the Ngilgi and Mammoth Caves. October is also an excellent time to view Humpback, Southern Right, Minke and Blue whales as they Migrate from Antarctica along neighbouring shores in search of warmer waters.

This morning we arrive in the port of Fremantle, gateway to the city of Perth and Western Australia. We disembark the ship and have an orientation tour of Fremantle and Perth before being transferred to our hotel in Perth.

This morning we will be transferred to Perth Railway Station to board the Indian Pacific train for our journey to Sydney. Relax in your Gold Service cabin as you watch the countryside go by. This afternoon we have a short stop in gold-rich Kalgoorlie where you will enjoy an included off train tour of Hannan’s North Tourist Mine and enjoy a short play about the tales of the Golden Mile.

The train will travel through unique landscapes where you will have the chance to spot a fascinating array of wildlife from the comfort of the lounge or your cabin. There will be a stop in the country town of Cook. The town was established in 1917 when the railway was built and was named after the sixth Prime Minister of Australia, Joseph Cook. The town is on the longest stretch of straight railway in the world, at 478km from Ooldea to beyond Loongana. Guests are given a self-guided walking map to explore the town.
