train journeys. More than three million guests have already enjoyed this
epic journey, which spans a continent, travelling the whole distance in
three days and three nights. Setting off from Sydney, your train will climb
to the heights of the majestic Blue Mountains as you sate your appetite
with one of the Indian Pacific’s signature dining experiences. This evening
we will enjoy a welcome drinks party to commence our spectacular tour.
DAY 2 Broken Hill & Adelaide
This morning we arrive in Broken Hill, a classic mining town where the
streets are wide and there’s a cosy country pub on every corner. On your
included Off Train Excursion, explore the rustic beauty of this Silver City
and all the artistic culture than abounds in the area. Step back on board,
head straight to the Queen Adelaide Restaurant for a traditionally cooked
Australian breakfast that is sure to delight. By the time your next meal is
served, you’ll be well into South Australia and coasting across the tip of
the Flinders Ranges. Upon arrival in Adelaide, you’ll have your choice of
whiling away the afternoon and evening in the picturesque city itself, or
historic Barossa Valley.
DAY 3 Cook & Nullarbor
Wake up to the raw beauty of the Nullarbor Plains. Take some time to
reflect on the changing landscape on Australia’s longest single stretch of
railway as you dig into a delicious breakfast. Your sense of wonder will be
ignited anew when you step off the train in Rawlinna in the evening for
drinks under the stars.

and punishment for nearly 140 years. We will then visit The Round House,
the first permanent building in Western Australia.

War. We’ll also view the impressive granite formations of The Gap and
Natural Bridge in Torndirrup National Park.
DAY 9 Margaret River
We depart Albany for Margaret River and travel through the Valley of the
Giants, where karri and jarrah trees tower majestically over the countryside
and red tingle trees can have a base circumference of 16m. We’ll take
the tree-top walk through the canopy of the trees, 40m above the forest
floor. We will see the enormous Gloucester Tree towering 72m above the
ground. Used as a fire lookout tree, it has a cabin built 58m up the tree,
accessed by 153 spikes that spiral the trunk. There will be time for lunch in
the town of Pemberton before we continue to our hotel in Margaret River.
