Jules Boult

Jules Boult

Jules Boult is an award winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and international recording artist. A universally admired blues and jazz entertainer – his music remains true to the blues tradition – and his effortless demeanour, humour and performance style has been closely linked with that of the genre’s legendary predecessors.

“I recently saw Jules at an intimate venue, where his superior musicianship, engaging personality and craftsman-like songs won over a packed house. Loved the humanity in his lyrics and the respect he has for the blues idiom” - Billy Pinnell – Australian Radio Personality

“With a taste for the arcane, Jules Boult sings and swings…all the way from the church house to the barrelhouse.” – Ken Williams, The Age.

“Jules Boult delivers his live show with ease and great banter. He emantates old school blues with a younger man’s enthusiasm. Musically Jules is an extremely competent multi-instrumentalist and his recordings reflect this along with a smooth vocal style and a simple but classic song writing approach.” – Nick Swainson. Radio Port Douglas. 102.7 FM.’

The House Band

Jules, Terry, Lisa and Jesse will be backed by the talented Michael DiCecco (Drums) and Liam Powell (Bass).

Terry “Harmonica” Bean

Terry “Harmonica” Bean is an American blues harmonica virtuoso, guitarist and songwriter. He has released seven albums since 2001, and appeared in three film documentaries charting present day blues experiences. Terry Bean has dedicated himself to promoting older blues stylings, such as Delta and Hill Country Blues. “What’s stimulating to me,” he said, “is people hearing the blues played like they used to hear it.” Terry’s performances are steeped in history whilst being as raucously entertaining as a late night “juke joint”. Terry is known to Travelrite customers – having performed for them on the Highway 61 Blues Tour and New Zealand Blues Cruise.

Lisa Baird (Lily Sparklechops)

Lisa Baird, affectionately known as “Lily Sparklechops”, is an Australian blues music deity. Blissful, beautiful, dirty and wicked – her music sits somewhere between a captivating 40’s nightclub routine and the raw, reckless spirit of New Orleans street buskers! Lisa is a sought after multi-instrumentalist and has been lauded for her work as one half of the Dixieland Punk duo “Lily & King”, releasing two albums, and an EP that reached number one on the Australian Independent Radio charts. In her own words: “As a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, I took up the trombone as an easy way to meet dysfunctional men, and I have indeed been richly rewarded in my pursuit”.

Jesse Valach

Jesse Valach has a huge presence on stage, and is the undisputed Australian blues music giant, leading you on a lion-hearted experience of searing soul ballads to parching guitar riots. His stellar career as an artist and songwriter includes performances both internationally and at Australia’s biggest blues music festivals and industry events, as well as a swag of highly coveted accolades and chart topping awards. Tex Miller – Forte’ Magazine “Like many other artists before him, think Robert Cray and Stevie Ray Vaughan, he has a distinct style of performing that is both infectious to watch and instantly recognizable when you hear it”
