Our holiday begins with a flight to Singapore. On arrival our private coach will
transfer us to our hotel.
DAY 2 Thursday 5 February, 2026
Singapore
This morning Deryn will lead us on an exploration of the Gardens by the Bay,
situated on one hundred and one hectares of reclaimed land. These wonderful
gardens include two cooled conservatories, the Flower Dome and the Cloud
Forest which showcase plants from around the world at different latitudes and
altitudes. The super tree grove comprises enormous structures built like palm
trees, ranging up to 50 meters tall. They are covered by vertical gardens which
create shade. The garden aims at minimal environment impact and collects and
circulates rainwater. In the afternoon we visit the seventy four hectare Singapore
Botanical Garden. The garden was founded in 1859 and is part of an original
tropical rainforest of six hectares. The garden’s highlight is the stunning National
Orchid garden with a collection of more than one thousand species and two
thousand hybrid orchids.
DAY 3 Friday 6 February, 2026 Port Louis, Mauritius
Today we fly to the gorgeous island of Mauritius.
DAY 4 Saturday 7 February, 2026 Embarkation, Port Louis
We have a sightseeing tour of the island and the capital, Port Louis, today. The
capital still retains aspects of its pirate past. We’ll visit the Pamplemousses Botanic
Gardens with its spectacular display of giant water lilies and over 500 different
plant species. We continue our tour of the island, which will take in the beautiful
scenery, and its stunning beaches. Late afternoon we board the Norwegian Dawn.
DAY 5 Sunday 8 February, 2026
Pointe des Galets, Reunion
After docking in Pointe des Galets, we travel to Cirque of Salazie. This rugged and
beautiful area, best described as a long, deep canyon, is lined with more than 100
magnificent waterfalls, hills and valleys.

At Sea
A day at sea is the perfect opportunity to explore the fabulous facilities of the
ship. Options include a visit to the spa for a relaxing massage. Late morning join
us for an interesting talk by Deryn about her life in gardening.

Antsiranana, Madagascar
Today we visit the vast, beautiful reserve, the Parc National de Montagne d'Ambre.
We’ll explore the rainforest that blankets an astonishingly biodiverse national
park that is home to some of Madagascar’s most unusual plants and animals.

Nosy Be
This morning we dock in Nosy Bee. Our sightseeing tour takes us to Lokobe
Natural Reserve, where we”ll walk through a virginal forest with endemic black
lemurs and colourful birds.

At Sea
A day at sea. Perhaps attend an exercise class, have a swim or visit the library to
check out the large collection of books. Late morning join us for gardening trivial
pursuit. Deryn will call the questions to test your knowledge of plants and gardens.
DAY 10 Friday 13 February, 2026
At Sea
A day at sea is the perfect opportunity to explore the fabulous facilities of this ship.
In the afternoon Deryn will help group members with any problems they have
with their plants, suggest alternative plantings or provide ideas (and rudimentary
sketch plans) for future garden improvements. Bring photos of your garden and
plants to make best use of her skills.
DAY 11 Saturday 14 February, 2026 Richards Bay, South Africa
Today we arrive in Richards Bay, which has the deepest natural harbour in Africa.
We will drive north to the DumaZulu Traditional Village, also known as Thundering
Zulu, where more than 50 tribal residents form part of a living museum that offers
a genuine Zulu cultural experience. DumaZulu is the largest village of its kind in
the Southern Hemisphere and the only Zulu community opened up to tourism by
King Goodwill Zwelithini.
DAY 12 Sunday 15 February, 2026
Richards Bay
We will enjoy South Africa’s sublime natural beauty and wildlife during this
superb game drive at the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Settle in for a picturesque
drive north to the park’s Memorial Gate. During the two-hour game drive, we will
discover that the park is well-known for its small population of rare white rhinos
and a spectacular variety of bird and animal life, including elephants, lions,
leopards, buffalo, blue wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, cheetahs, mountain reedbuck,
kudu and warthogs.
DAY 13 Monday 16 February, 2026
Port Elizabeth
This morning, we dock in Port Elizabeth. We first visit Van Standens Wildflower
Reserve, half is comprised of fynbos while the other half is made up of forest
and endemic species. We will see many well-known species such as protea,
geraniums, agapanthus as well as orchids. We continue with a visit to Settlers
Park in the centre of the town.
DAY 14 Tuesday 17 February, 2026
Mossel Bay
Today we dock in Mossel Bay. We will first visit the Ethno-Botanical Garden and
Indigenous Field Garden. It contains a collection of plants that occur naturally in
the Mossel Bay area. Our guide will explain how the plants were used for shelter,
food, medicinal and spiritual purposes. We continue with a drive along part of
the famous Garden Route. We will enjoy the beautiful coastline bordered by
extensive lagoons, with indigenous forest and wildflowers.
DAY 15 Wednesday 18 February, 2026
Cape Town
Upon arrival into Cape Town this morning, we will be met by our private coach
and depart on a sightseeing tour of the city. Cape Town is a beautiful city
surrounded by mountains, vineyards and beaches. The skyline is dominated by
the dramatic 1000-metre-high Table Mountain, with sheer cliffs. We will see the
Castle of Good Hope, one of the oldest structures in South Africa, the Victoria
and Alfred waterfront and the Bo-Kaap area, a colourful mixed-race district. We
continue our journey to Elgin to visit Fresh Woods which is a World Federation of
Rose Societies Garden of Excellence. The rambling, romantic plantsman’s garden
has a major collection of heritage roses and many rare trees and shrubs.
DAY 16 Thursday 19 February, 2026
Disembark/Cape Town
We leave the ship and take the cable car to the summit of Table Mountain to
enjoy spectacular views. We continue to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, hailed
as one of the world’s best botanical gardens. Situated on the eastern slopes
of Table Mountain, these gardens were established in and are devoted almost
exclusively to preserving indigenous plants and include living collections of
South Africa’s many and varied species. This afternoon we visit Stellenberg, a
historic and beautifully proportioned Cape Dutch homestead surrounded by a
graceful garden. Taking inspiration from Hidcote and Sissinghurst in the UK, it
features masses of roses, a white garden, and a series of parterres. We check in to
our hotel near the Victoria and Alfred enclosed secure shopping area.
DAY 17 Friday 20 February, 2026 Cape Town
Today we travel to the wine region of Stellenbosch. It is a place of great beauty,
steeped in South African tradition, which has retained its 18th century charm.
Some of South Africa’s finest gardens are found here, including Old Nectar,
designed from 1941 by Una van der Spuy. Set on a wonderful site in the
Jonkershoek Valley with mountains rising high in the background, the steeply
sloping site has been formed into a series of terraces. The formal rose garden
has views over wide lawn terraces, and the pergolas are wreathed in old roses
intertwined with clematis. In the afternoon we will visit Rustenberg Garden
reputed to be the best garden in South Africa, we will enjoy the English style
garden with a strong focus on heritage roses and perennials. It boasts mature
trees and unusual plants, surrounding several spectacular Cape Dutch buildings.
DAY 18 Saturday 21 February, 2026 Cape Town
We journey south to the beautiful peninsula, the Cape of Good Hope. The nature
reserve displays a vast range of the Cape’s unique Fynbos flora. There are 1,300
Fynbos species in this area, including many proteas. The reserve is also home to
baboon, antelope and a variety of bird life. We return to Cape Town via the pretty
and historic seaside village of Simon’s Town, now a naval base and home to a
colony of endangered Jackass penguins. In the evening, we will enjoy a farewell
dinner to celebrate our wonderful tour.
DAY 19 Sunday 22 February, 2026 Departure
Today we are transferred to the airport for our flights back to Australia, via
Johannesburg.

Touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that a them to take part in this tour without the need of assistance from others.

Tour Costs: A deposit of $1000 per passenger should be sent with a completed Travelrite International booking form for each main tour. As soon as the booking is confirmed, a confirmation advice will be emailed to the client. Final payments are due to be paid to Travelrite International 92 days prior to the commencement of the tour. A 1.5% administration fee will be added to payments by credit card.
Cancellation Charges: Number of days before the tour commences. Cancellations outside 92 days of departure will result in the loss of the deposit. Cancellations 92 days or less before departure will result in the loss of all monies paid.
Refunds:
The tour is based on arrangements which do not allow for any
refunds in respect to sightseeing, accommodation, meals or other services
not utilised after the tour has commenced.
Travel Documents:
All passengers will require a valid passport and a
Zimbabwe visa on arrival if travelling on the extension. If not an Australian
passport holder, please check with Travelrite International for visa
requirements.
Travel Insurance:
Adequate travel insurance is highly recommended to
cover tour members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the
cruise and for cancellation fees which could result from events such as illness,
accident, death etc.
Baggage:
Passengers qualify for a 23kg free baggage allowance on flights
to join or return from the tour. Baggage is at owners’ risk throughout the
cruise.
Minimum Tour Numbers:
The tour arrangements have been made on
the basis of a minimum number of passengers travelling. In the event that
less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their booking
92 days from the date of departure, Travelrite International reserves the right
to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of monies paid, or offer arrangements
to proceed with the tour at a modified fare.
Tour Participation:
Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Victoria Falls
This morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of this magnificent sight. Victoria Falls are
one of the world’s most spectacular waterfalls. The Zambezi River, which is more
than 2 km wide at this point, plunges noisily down a series of basalt gorges and
raises an iridescent mist that can be seen more than 20 km away. We return to the
hotel and the afternoon is free. You can take a helicopter ride over the falls or take
a walk with lions. In the late afternoon we’ll enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi
River. As the sun sets behind the African skyline, you’ll have the opportunity to see
a variety of game including crocodiles, elephants, birds and hippos.
DAY 3 Tuesday 24 February, 2026
Chobe National Park
Today we travel across the border to Botswana to visit Chobe National Park. The
park extends over 11,700 sq kms, encompassing floodplains, swamps, woodland
and the Chobe River. The park boasts over 450 species of birds plus Giraffe, Lions,
Cape Buffalo, Hippos, Crocodile, Leopard, Impala, Elephants and Zebra, all of
which are frequently viewed on safari. After settling into our hotel, we will enjoy
a 4 wheel drive safari to search for the ‘Big 5’ – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino
and Buffalo.

Chobe National Park
Our second day on safari in the Chobe National Park is sure to be another memorable
experience as the park has some of the highest game density in all Africa.

Chobe National Park
Our final day on safari in the Chobe National Park, which is named after this
majestic river that protects 10.700 km² of the northern Kalahari desert. This
evening we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate the end of our wonderful tour.
