Welcome aboard your delectable journey through Northern Spain
with Secrets of Northern Spain. Today marks the beginning of our
adventure into Basque regions of Northern Spain. Upon arriving in
Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Capital of the Basque Region, the group will be
met by our private local guide, Maria, who will take us to our
historic, perfectly located hotel. Vitoria-Gasteiz, a homecoming,
serves as the perfect starting point for our Basque adventure,
private 18th century residence within the mediaeval city, creating
an intimate connection to the local history. Our Vitorian feast
tonight will be deeply rooted in this fertile land and will showcase
the exceptional quality of the produce.

DAY 2 Monday September 22, 2025
Vitoria-Gasteiz
Today’s highlights will include discovering our Green City,
Vitoria-Gasteiz. Its history, rich cuisine. Medieval town that will
welcome you like no other. Our group will be meeting with our local
guide, Aitor, on a private visit to the past, the present and future of
the Capital of Basque Country in Northern Spain. Also we will be
walking the “El Camino” followed by lunch where Napoleon used to
spend the night while travelling between Spain and France.
The afternoon will be full of surprises with a couple of private visits
to museums and to finish the day we will be celebrating in a 14th
century building, a true feast for your senses.
DAY 3 Tuesday September 23, 2025 Vitoria-Gasteiz
Today, we’ll explore the sights of San Sebastián, passing by Playa de Zurriola and then heading to the La Concha
beachfront, before making our way up to Monte Igueldo for the most breathtaking panoramic view. Our adventure
continues in the culinary haven of San Sebastian where pintxos, the Basque interpretation of tapas becomes our
focus. Maria’s connections granted us access to kitchens, creating a behind-the-scenes experience that deepens our
understanding of Basque culinary traditions. The symphony of flavours marks our day in San Sebastian as a
celebration of the region’s unparalleled gastronomic prowess.
Our Basque feast tonight will have roots in this land and is as authentic and local as you can get, Cider House Rule!
Our private shuttle will take us back to our accommodation in the heart of Vitoria.
DAY 4 Wednesday September 24, 2025 Vitoria-Gasteiz
After breakfast, our private shuttle will take us to Bilbao our local
guide will take us through the past, present and future of this
amazing Villa and its transformation. Lunch at a very authentic
and local institution in Bilbao Old town, followed by The
Guggenheim Museum, an architectural marvel, became the focal
point of our exploration.
Returning to our Casa away from home, Vitoria-Gasteiz, and
another celebration at dinner time, with local produce that will
challenge the most accurate palates.
DAY 5 Thursday September 25, 2025 Vitoria-Gasteiz
Vitoria to Laguardia, by private shuttle. Today, we embark on a journey and delve into the world of wine touring and
tasting in the idyllic Rioja region. Here, every sip tells a story of tradition and innovation. Our guided tour will take you
through both renowned and boutique wineries, where you’ll savour the rich flavours and aromas of Rioja’s finest
vintages and enjoy the company of passionate winemakers dedicated to their craft. Following this immersive
experience, you’ll indulge in a lunch at a private vineyard, where you’ll relish a sumptuous feast of regional dishes
perfectly paired with estate wines. This is a journey through Rioja’s soul and a celebration of its terroir. We will be
visiting the medieval town with our private local guide, Laguardia, a stunning village beloved by locals. Returning
to our Casa away from Home, Vitoria and taste an exceptional dinner in one of our meticulously chosen restaurants.

DAY 6 Friday September 26, 2025
Vitoria-Gasteizy
Today is our last day can you believe it? We've decided to make it
extra special. After breakfast, our local guide will join us for the
final leg of our tour. We'll start with a visit to a local market,
followed by a site visit and an intriguing local museum. After
lunch, enjoy a leisurely afternoon whether shopping, exploring the
medieval market just steps away, or unwinding at our private hotel
as we prepare for our final dinner.
Tonight, our farewell dinner will be an unforgettable dining
experience, celebrating the incredible flavors of the Basque
region.
DAY 7 Saturday September 27, 2025
After breakfast is time to say goodbye to our fellow travellers and stunning
accommodation in the heart and soul of the Basque Country…Agur Euskadi!

International touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.
Deposit and Payment
A non-refundable deposit of $900 per passenger is required at the time of booking. Full payment will be required 75 days before departure. A 1.5% administration fee will be charged on payments made by credit card.
Cancellations Conditions
Cancellations within 75 days of departure will result in the loss of all monies paid. Cancellation outside 75 days from departure will result in a cancellation fee of the deposit.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is recommended to cover the costs of cancellation fees due to illness, death in family, etc.
Minimum Tour Numbers and Conditions:
The tour has been priced on the basis of a minimum number of passengers having booked 75 days prior to departure. Travelrite reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of all monies paid or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified cost. Travelrite reserves the right to change advertised entrances if necessary for the smooth operation of the tour.
