Today we depart Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane on our overnight flight to Amsterdam.

This morning we arrive at Amsterdam Airport. After clearing customs, we will be met by our private coach and transfer to Amsterdam for our sightseeing tour. We will have a canal boat cruise where we can see the city from the water. We are then transferred to our hotel.
Monday 6 August, 2018
Late morning we are transferred to the docks to board the Celebrity Eclipse. Be up on deck as the ship slips her moorings at 5pm for the start of our fabulous cruise. Each night onboard enjoy shows in the theatre and bars that include production shows, guest singers, comics and magicians.

A day at sea to enjoy the facilities of the ship. In the afternoon Ian McFadyen will present a talk on his life in comedy, including the Comedy Company. In the evening Ian McFadyen will host welcome drinks to celebrate the start of our Comedy Cruise of the British Isles.
Wednesday 8 August, 2018
Today we arrive at Inverness, near the famous Loch Ness. It is the largest Scottish loch by volume, indeed experts say that it contains more fresh water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined! We make the short journey into bonnie Glen Urquhart, famous for its native woodlands and wide variety of wildlife that they support. Urquhart Castle is a magnificent castle that dates from the 14th century and was one of a chain of garrisons that controlled the Great Glen. Nowadays it’s a popular place with “Nessie” spotters who scan the waters of the loch that are deeper here than the North Sea! In the afternoon we enjoy a comedy performance at a local pub!

Today we arrive in Edinburgh for two days of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Every August for three weeks the city of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, welcomes an explosion of creative energy from around the globe. We will start the day with a sightseeing tour of the main sights of Edinburgh. We will see the ancient Royal Mile with its cobbled streets forming the backbone of the medieval Old Town which leads from the Palace of Holyrood House (HM The Queen’s official residence in Scotland) all the way to Edinburgh Castle. We will enjoy a guided tour of the Edinburgh Castle. This afternoon we will enjoy an included Fringe Festival comedy gig selected by Ian McFadyen. Then this evening we will enjoy a second comedy gig.

Our second day at the colourful Fringe Festival. This extraordinary festival encompasses almost an entire month’s worth of theatre, cabaret, experimental performance art, circus, comedy, and dance. Every year, it showcases a range of new and established artists from across Europe. Today Ian will take the group on a walk to explore the vibrant street theatre that happens throughout the city during the festival. Later in the day we will enjoy an included Fringe Festival comedy gig selected by Ian McFadyen.

Belfast, Northern Ireland
This morning we arrive at Belfast, the seat of Parliament (called Stormont) and capital of Northern Ireland. We travel along part of the beautiful coastal road to take in the stunning views on our way to the Giant’s Causeway to see the remarkable rock formations. The lunar landscape of the Giant’s Causeway is a World Heritage site, where the basalt columns packed tightly together have made the Giant’s Causeway the subject of numerous legends. After a brief stop at the Titanic Dry Dock, we return to the city of Belfast for a sightseeing tour where we will see City Hall, the Grand Opera House, Queens University and Albert Memorial Clock.

This morning we arrive in the port city of Liverpool, the capital city in the county of Lancashire, a city full of culture, excitement and important maritime history, and famous for its Mersey waterfront. Liverpool is also known throughout the world for being the home of The Beatles, at the time when the Mersey Beat was born. On our sightseeing tour we will see Matthew Street, the home of the Cavern Club where The Beatles played. We will go into the Cavern Club and you will have some time to enjoy a performance. We will make our way down to the Mersey waterfront and take a ferry ride across the River Mersey, made famous by Jerry & the Pacemakers.

Today we arrive at Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland and well known as being a place of friendliness and ‘craic’, a city well over 1000 years-old. We will have a sightseeing tour of the city which includes visits to St.Patrick’s Cathedral and Trinity College, where we see the famous Book of Kells. We see the famous Ha’penny Bridge, the GPO in O’Connell Street, St Stephen’s Green, and Grafton Street. This afternoon Ian McFadyen will take you to comedy performance in a Dublin pub.

This morning we arrive at the port city of Cork, the third largest city in Ireland after Dublin and Belfast. On our tour we will first visit Blarney Castle, famous the world over for being the place where you can kiss the ‘Blarney Stone’. The legend states that once kissed, the stone bestows the gift of eloquence. We return to the city of Cork where you have some time to explore. We then enjoy a comedy performance before returning to the ship.

St Peter Port, Channel Islands
This morning we arrive at St Peter Port, Guernsey’s main town, built into a steep valley leading down to the harbour, with spectacular views across to Alderney and the other islands. We have a comprehensive sightseeingtour of the island to see the delightful rural and coastal scenery. The granite buildings now occupied by shops were once the homes of the town’s wealthy and the High Street still has its original cobbles. The town was put on the map in 1855 when Victor Hugo, exiled from France, made his home at Hauteville House and where he wrote Les Miserables. After returning to the ship Ian McFadyen will present another history of comedy session.

A day at sea to enjoy the facilities of the ship. This afternoon Ian McFadyen will give us his final presentation on comedy aboard the ship. This evening Ian will host farewell drinks to celebrate our Comedy Festival Cruise around the British Isles.

This morning we arrive back in Amsterdam. After disembarking we are transferred to the Amsterdam airport for our flight to London. London hosts some of the world’s best stand-up comedy, with top stand-up comedians from across the world. This evening attend a West End musical or theatre production of your choice (optional).

We will have an overview sightseeing tour of the city this morning and see Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral and more. Later we will visit Buckingham Palace and enjoy a tour of 19 spectacular State rooms. Buckingham Palace is furnished with the wonderful treasures from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rubens, Rembrandt, Poussin and more world renowned artists. This evening Ian will take us to a comedy performance in a London comedy club to celebrate our time on the Comedy Festival cruise.

A free day to explore London and shop. In the morning Ian and the tour manager will take those interested on a tour of Westminster Abby, if available (optional). They will also take those interested to see the famous Abbey Road Recording Studios (where The Beatles recorded) and Lords Cricket Ground (both optional). Late afternoon we will board the coach and be transferred to the airport for flights to Australia.
