Tour members will be met at Osaka
International Kansai airport at 9.30am, where
you will be greeted before embarking on
a private coach to Osaka Castle. Osaka
Castle is a historic fortress originally built in
1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, renowned for
its stunning architecture and pivotal role in
Japanese history. We continue our journey
to Onomichi, a picturesque coastal city in
Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, known for its
historic temples, scenic hillside views, and the
Shimanami Kaido cycling route.
DAY 2 Monday, 13 April 2026
Shimanami Kaido cycling route,
Onomichi to Imabari (Approx. 70 km)
Embark on an unforgettable cycling journey
along the Shimanami Kaido, one of the world’s
most breathtaking cycling routes. Connecting
Onomichi to Imabari, this 70-kilometre coastal
trail takes you across the Seto Inland Sea,
through picturesque islands, charming fishing
villages, and stunning panoramic bridges. As
you cycle through the peaceful island roads,
you’ll cross the Innoshima Bridge, taking in
stunning ocean views. The final stretch of
the journey takes you across the Kurushima-
Kaikyō Bridge, a series of three suspension
bridges connecting Oshima to the city of
Imabari. E-bikes will be available, offering a less
strenuous way to enjoy its breathtaking views
and gentle slopes.
DAY 3 Tuesday 14 April 2026
Hamakaze Sea cycling route (50 km)
Today we discover the Hamakaze Sea
cycling route. We will set off from Imabari on
a captivating cycling journey along the Seto
Inland Sea, where calm waters and coastal
beauty lead you toward Matsuyama. Enjoy
the effortless ride with soothing sea breezes
and panoramic views, perfect for cyclists of all
levels. Return to Imabari with a renewed sense
of wonder, taking in the quaint island hamlets
and serene shores once more on this delightful
round-trip escape.
DAY 4 Wednesday, 15 April 2026
Kyoto, Japan
This morning we travel by coach to Okayama
Station to board the train to Kyoto. In the
afternoon we visit the Golden Pavilion, a
Zen temple in northern Kyoto whose top two
floors are completely covered in gold leaf.
Formally known as Rokuonji, the temple was
the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga
Yoshimitsu, and according to his will, it became
a Zen temple of the Rinzai sect after his death in
1408. We then visit the Ryoanji Temple, the site
of Japan’s most famous rock garden. Originally
an aristocrat’s villa during the Heian Period,
the site was converted into a Zen temple in
1450 and belongs to the Myoshinji School of
the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism. Later we visit
Gion, Kyoto’s most famous geisha district made
famous from the novel and film Memoirs of a
Geisha. It is filled with shops, restaurants and
ochaya (teahouses), where geisha and maiko
(geisha apprentices) entertain.
DAY 5 Thursday, 16 April 2026
Kyoto
Experience Kyoto like never before on a
thrilling one-day cycling tour, visiting the iconic
Kiyomizudera Temple and Nijo Castle. Begin
your ride through the city’s historic streets,
passing traditional machiya houses and tranquil
gardens. First stop: Kiyomizudera Temple, a
UNESCO World Heritage site perched on a
hillside. Marvel at its grand wooden stage,
offering sweeping views of Kyoto, and feel the
sacred calm of this ancient sanctuary. Next,
cycle to Nijo Castle, a 17th-century fortress
once home to shoguns. Explore its intricate
interiors, famous “nightingale floors” that chirp
underfoot, and beautifully manicured gardens.
DAY 6 Friday, 17 April 2026 Today we embark on a picturesque and relaxing cycling adventure along the predominantly flat shoreline of Lake Biwa, Japan’s largest freshwater lake. Our 60-kilometer route traces the northern edge of the lake, offering stunning views and a serene ride. Following the journey, we’ll transfer to Hikone Castle, one of just five castles in Japan recognized as a national treasure. Explore the historic castle before we conclude the day with a return to Kyoto.
DAY 7 Saturday, 18 April 2026
Tokyo, Japan
This morning we are transferred to the railway
station for our exciting “Bullet train ride” on the
famous Shinkansen train to Tokyo traveling up
to 270 km/h. On the way, we pass Mt. Fuji, and if
the weather is good, we will see it. Upon arrival,
we have an orientation tour of the city and see
the famous fish market and the Asakusa district,
well-known as a region of old Tokyo. We see
the Asakusa Kannon Temple, a Buddhist temple
also known as “Sensoji.” The temple was built in
645 A.D with the finest Japanese architecture.
Later we are transferred to our hotel.
DAY 8 Sunday, 19 April 2026
This morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of
Tokyo. We visit the famous Ginza shopping
district, renowned as the most expensive real
estate in the world. We then visit the Imperial
Palace East Gardens, which is part of the Royal
residence, and a superb example of traditional
Japanese landscape design. We are then
transferred to Yokohama to board the Diamond
Princess. Make sure you’re up on deck as
Diamond Princess slips her moorings and we
start our cruise around Japan.

Nagasaki, Japan (40 km cycling)
Explore Nagasaki’s history and spirit of peace
on this immersive cycling tour. Ride past
Nakamachi Church and the Tateyama Air Raid
Shelter, follow the Urakami River and pause for
reflection at Peace Park. Continue to Kyokai
no Mieru Oka Park and the remains of the
Urakami Church Bell Tower before reaching
Sanno Shrine, home to the iconic One-Legged
Torii Gate and the Atomic-Bombed Camphor
Tree, one of Japan’s 100 Soundscapes. This
unique journey offers a deeper understanding
of Nagasaki’s resilience while showcasing the
everyday life of this historic city.
DAY 11 Wednesday, 22 April 2026
Jeju (Seogwipo), South Korea (28 km cycling)
Begin your 28 km journey at Seongsan
Ilchulbong Peak, a UNESCO-listed volcanic
crater offering spectacular coastal views.
Pedal along Jeju’s scenic coastline, passing
Udo Island in the distance before reaching
Jimibong, a steep volcanic hill that adventurous
riders can climb for a panoramic vista. Continue
along the coast, where pristine beaches—
Hado, Pyeongdae, Saehwa, Woljeong, and
Gimnyeong—invite you to pause and take in the
island’s natural beauty. Along the way, charming
cafés and seaside restaurants provide perfect
spots to rest and refuel before concluding your
ride at the picturesque Gimnyeong Beach. You
may like to continue your ride into Jeju.

Hakodate, Japan (50 km cycling)
Today we cycle the scenic Hakodate Bay,
enjoying refreshing ocean breezes and
views of fishing boats. Continue to the iconic
Goryokaku Park, a star-shaped fortress
surrounded by cherry blossoms in spring.
Head west toward Mount Hakodate, climbing
gently for panoramic vistas. Loop north
through the tranquil Yunokawa Onsen area,
famous for hot springs, before returning via the
vibrant Motomachi district, with its charming
Western-style buildings.
DAY 15 Sunday, 26 April 2026
Muroran, Japan (53 km cycling)
Today we enjoy a classic bike ride around
the perimeter of Lake Toya in southwestern
Hokkaido. This beautiful lake is surely one
of Japan’s most pristine, with amazing views
of the surrounding mountains the whole way
round. We visit Mount Showashinzan and
Mount Usu located on the southern side of
Lake Toya, which form Toya-Usu UNESCO
Global Geopark. From the bottom of Mount
Showa-shinzan we take a cable car to the
observatory on Mount Usu
DAY 16 Monday, 27 April 2026
Aomori, Japan (50 km cycling)
Today you will be cycling along Aomori Bay
with views of Mutsu Bay. Follow quiet roads to
Asamushi Onsen for a brief rest and optional
hot spring experience. Continue your ride
around the Natsudomari Peninsula, which juts
out into Mutsu Bay, and here you can enjoy
both a winding mountain road, and a coastal
road with a view of the horizon over Mutsu Bay.

Touring can involve a considerable amount of walking and stair climbing in the places visited and it is important that all tour participants have a level of physical fitness that allows them to take part in this activity without the need of assistance from others.

Diamond Princess is operated by Princess Cruises and the fly, cruise and tour arrangements are subject to the terms and conditions and general information detailed in the Princess Cruises brochure. All passengers must complete the Princess Cruises online check-in on www.princess.com as well as a Travelrite International booking form.
Deposit and Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $900 per passenger should be sent with a booking form that lists your requested cabin category. As soon as the booking is confirmed (usually within 24 hours) a cruise confirmation advice will be posted to the client. Final payments are due to be paid to Travelrite International 90 days prior to the commencement of the fly, tour and cruise holiday. A 1.5% administration fee will be added to all payments by credit card.

Refunds:
The cruise is based on arrangements that do not allow for
any refunds in respect to accommodation, meals or other services
not utilised after the tour has commenced.
Travel Documents: All passengers will require a valid passport. If not an Australian passport holder, check with Travelrite International for visa requirements.
Travel Insurance: Adequate travel insurance is highly recommended to cover cruise members for the consequences of unforeseen events during the cruise and for cancellation fees which could result from such events such as illness, accident, death etc.
Minimum Tour Numbers and Conditions: The cruise arrangements have been made on the basis of a minimum number of passengers travelling. In the event that less than the required number of passengers have confirmed their booking 90 days from the date of departure, Travelrite International reserves the right to cancel the tour, giving a full refund of monies paid, or offer arrangements to proceed with the tour at a modified fare.
Tour Participation:
Children under 5 years of age are ineligible on coach & cruise tours. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Passengers with disabilities are welcome on Travelrite & Cruise Offers tours provided they are accompanied by a companion capable of providing all necessary assistance, and do not require special assistance from Travelrite & Cruise Offers personnel. Travelrite and Cruise Offers reserves the right to refuse to carry anyone if it is felt the individual cannot cope with the requirements of coach & cruise tour travel and who may require services and facilities that Travelrite & Cruise Offers cannot guarantee will be available. You agree to not hold the Travelrite & Cruise Offers responsible for any decision made by any of them or any service provider to refuse to carry you, provide any facilities or accommodation to you or to provide any service to you.

Travelrite International Pty Ltd, it’s agents, officers, affiliates, and/or suppliers of services pursuant to or in connection with these fly/cruise/stay holidays shall act only as agents in making arrangements for hotels, transportation including transportation by ship, restaurants, or any other service and do not assume any liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, death, loss, accident or delay to person or property due to an act of negligence or a default of any hotel, carrier restaurant company or person rendering any services included in fly/cruises, or by act of God. Further no responsibilities are accepted for any damage or delay due to sickness, pilferage, labour disputes, machinery break-down, quarantine, government restraints, weather, terrorism or other causes beyond their control.
